International Wine Cellar Rates Benovia's 2006 Vintage
90 Points | 2006 La Pommeraie Chardonnay
"Light yellow color. Seductively perfumed bouquet of leesy pear,
peach and mango. Lemon zest, mace and talc-y minerals add cut to
the aromas and carry onto the palate, enlivening the pliant pit
fruit and floral honey flavors. Becomes spicier and more energetic
with air, finishing with a suave tangerine quality and very good
persistence."
88+ Points | 2006 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast
"Medium red. Musky black raspberry and cherry aromas are
complicated by white pepper, dried rose, clove and green cardamom.
Fleshy red and dark berry flavors are firmed by dusty tannins and
pick up sweet baking spices with air. Finishes with sweet cherry
and dark fruit preserve nuances and lingering spiciness."
90 Points | 2006 Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley
"Bright red. Musky black raspberry, cherry skin and underbrush
on the nose, with a suave floral quality gaining strength with air.
Fleshy cherry and dark berry flavors are a touch youthfully wound
up but slowly flesh out with air, gaining sweetness and a bitter
chocolate quality. Finishes with exotic Asian spice and cherry
flavors and very good persistence."
90+ Points | 2006 Zinfandel Sonoma County
"Deep ruby. Smoky dark berries, cherry and plum jam on the nose;
picks up musky herbal and floral character with aeration. Firm and
chewy, with deep, sweet dark berry flavors complemented by cola and
rooty sassafras. Finishes with good lift and chewy bitter cherry
and blackberry qualities."
