La Pommeraie Chardonnay
Owned and farmed by George Martinelli, this
vineyard on Frei Road in the Russian River Valley was once an apple
orchard. We chose the name "La Pommeraie," French for "the
apple orchard," to pay homage to the site and its history.
This meticulously farmed vineyard is closely planted with a very
high density of 2420 vines per acre. A blend of Dijon 95 and
Old Wente Chardonnay selections this complex and powerful wine has
an amazing aromatic complexity of citrus blossom, honeysuckle and
white peaches, with an opulent texture and layered flavors of
candied citrus. This wine is part of our current spring
release.
