La Pommeraie Pinot Noir

This ridge top vineyard sits along the neighborhood of Laguna Ridge in the Russian River AVA. Gravenstein apples have given way to newer selections of Pinot Noir from Burgundy; Dijon Pinot Noir clones 777 & 828. This extraordinary single vineyard Pinot Noir gives an immediate impression of depth and concentration in the glass, with remarkably explosive aromas of boysenberry and vine ripened black raspberry. The palate is viscous and rich, yet light on its feet, with fine-polished tannins and an exceptionally balanced acidity.

The 2013 vintage is the first time that we fermented this vineyard with some whole cluster (~15%). Although delicious upon release, we expect this wine to improve with cellaring for 6-8 years from vintage date.

Awards and Accolades for Benovia La Pommeraie Pinot Noir

From Cori Solomon on  Examiner.com

"Benovia Winery's 2011 Pinot Noir, La Pommeraie brings forth a silky, smooth and balanced wine. Utilizing Dijon clones 777 and 828 and the density of the vines in the vineyard adds to the complexity and depth of this Pinot. There is richness yet at the same time a light quality that makes this Pinot Noir exceptional."
