Zinfandel
This dynamic and powerhouse Zinfandel comes from the northern
end of the Russian River Valley from the historic Cohn vineyard,
planted in 1975. The gnarled, old vines which are virtually
dry-farmed, climb a steep and rocky slope, producing small and
compact clusters with incredible fruit intensity and bright
acidity. Lively aromas of vine-ripened blackberries and Kirsch
liqueur are followed by flavors reminiscent of fresh-baked
blackberry pie and fresh-cracked white pepper. This succulent wine
has a multi-layered texture, with sweet luscious tannins and a long
finish.
This wine is a favorite of many of our mailing list customers
year after year. As we have said to many people over the
years, this is a Zinfandel made in the hands of a Pinot Noir
winemaker. Mike Sullivan just has a special something with
Zins.
