Santa Rosa, CA (May 31, 2011) - Benovia Winery Co-owner &
Winemaker/General Manager Mike Sullivan today announced Christy L.
Simon has joined Benovia as its Chief Financial Officer.
In the newly-created position at the Russian River Valley wine
producer, Ms. Simon will be responsible for Benovia's accounting
practices, financial planning, risk management, and supervision of
capital investments for future growth and expansion, according to
Mr. Sullivan.
Most recently serving as CFO at The Donum Estate winery in
Sonoma County, Ms. Simon has held executive positions at such
distinguished national and international companies as Coopers &
Lybrand, Crum & Forster, and Fireman's Fund Insurance
Company.
"Christy is driven by a real passion for wine and a deep
personal commitment to produce only the highest quality work," Mr.
Sullivan says. "That's why her many years of experience in both the
wine industry and financial sectors is the perfect match for
Benovia and will add new strength to our management team."
"Mike and Joe's enthusiasm for the winery really is contagious,"
Ms. Simon says of Mr. Sullivan and Benovia Founder and
Chairman of the Board Joe Anderson. "Their leadership has laid an
impressive foundation. Where I think I can add the most value to
Benovia is through an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to
sound financial decision-making that will ensure the winery's
continued success."
Ms. Simon clearly demonstrated her passion for wine when she
left a highly successful career as an insurance executive to pour
wine in a tasting room. "It allowed me to get closer to customers
and share the joy of wine with them. It's an experience I will
always treasure," Ms. Simon says.
A resident of the California coastal town of Dillon Beach, Ms.
Simon lives with her husband Stan Wells, and their dog Rover. When
she's not enjoying exploring the world on her Harley-Davidson, she
looks forward to relaxing walks along the beach or escapes into the
woods.
