Author: Benovia Winery
Santa Rosa, CA (May 26, 2011) - Benovia Winery Founder and
Chairman of the Board Joe Anderson today announced the promotion of
Benovia Winemaker and Co-Owner Mike Sullivan to General Manager of
the Russian River Valley producer of premium Pinot Noir, Chardonnay
and Zinfandel wines.
In addition to continuing his critically acclaimed work as
Benovia's winemaker, Mr. Sullivan will now take the lead in all
day-to-day operations of the winery as well as provide the vision
needed to guide the business smartly into the future Mr. Anderson
said.
"Mike's wines are consistently amazing. He's earned his place
among the very best after 20 years," Mr. Anderson says of Mr.
Sullivan who has garnered numerous industry accolades throughout
his winemaking career. "Mike also has a savvy business sense and an
impassioned vision for the future that are every bit as valuable to
Benovia as his winemaking prowess," added Mr. Anderson. "I really
want to see him help take Benovia to the next level."
Joining Benovia in 2005 after a successful tenure at Hartford
Court, Mr. Sullivan quickly grew comfortable wearing many different
hats at the upstart winery. "It's been a rare opportunity to build
a winery basically from scratch, including planting 45 new acres of
vineyards in the Russian River Valley and taking complete control
of the winemaking process," Mr. Sullivan says. "I'm really excited
about this new challenge to put even more of my personal stamp on
the continued success of Benovia."
Mr. Anderson also hinted that other exciting changes would be
coming to the winery. "We've invested a lot of time, hard work and
capital to stand out in a very crowded market," says Mr. Anderson.
"After three sold-out vintages, Benovia's original team has
exceeded my expectations as a founder. Now it's time to fine-tune
our management base to support what we're certain will be an even
brighter future for the winery."
