Martinelli Vineyards
Since 1896 the Martinelli family has been farming in Sonoma County. The Martinelli vineyards are farmed by Lee Martinelli, Sr. and his sons Lee Martinelli, Jr. and George Martinelli. Their vineyards are meticulously farmed and we feel very privileged to be able to purchase their grapes.
Our La Pommeraie Chardonnay is from a vineyard farmed by George Martinelli (pictured above) located on Frei Road. This vineyard was at one time an apple orchard and so we named it “La Pommeraie” which is apple orchard in french. We believe this honors the past heritage of this land. This vineyard is beautiful to walk with not a leaf out of place. Located just east of Highway 116 this is in an area of very cool temperatures with many foggy mornings. The grapes from here produce a stunningly beautiful chardonnay.
We also purchase Pinot Noir from a vineyard just off of Woosley road. This vineyard was the former location of old winery and has pretty rolling knolls. It is densely planted with over 2000 vines per acre. The grapes from this vineyard make an intense Pinot Noir which we use in our Proprietary blend.
